2021 Tacuil "33 de Dávalos" Blend
Calchaquí Valley, Salta - Argentina
"Nestled deep within the Calchaquí Valley, specifically in Molinos, Salta, Tacuil is a truly extraordinary place. It's here that the Dávalos family discovered an ideal location for extreme winemaking at 2,500mts above sea level, with an astonishing terroir perfectly suited for producing high-altitude wines."
A Single Vineyard wine, crafted from 80% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced exclusively from the Silverio vineyard. The sandy-loam and granite soils, with low organic matter, impart a unique minerality and firm structure to the wine. Grown organically, the vines yield approximately 3,000 kg per hectare, resulting in concentrated fruit flavors.
Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks and concrete eggs, with a short pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation occurs at low temperatures using native yeasts. Bottled without fining or filtration, the wine is aged for approximately 24 months before release.
33 de Davalos is a powerful and expressive red wine, showcasing the true character of its grapes. With no oak ageing, the wine exhibits vibrant fruit and spice notes, well- rounded tannins, and a balanced acidity.
Annual production is limited to approximately 4,000 bottles.
