2021 Tacuil "Viñas de Dávalos" Blend
Calchaquí Valley, Salta - Argentina
"Nestled deep within the Calchaquí Valley, specifically in Molinos, Salta, Tacuil is a truly extraordinary place. It's here that the Dávalos family discovered an ideal location for extreme winemaking at 2,500mts above sea level, with an astonishing terroir perfectly suited for producing high-altitude wines."
This wine is the icon of our winery and embodies the purest spirit of our winemaking philosophy, reflecting the vision and conviction of Don Raul Davalos Goytia.
It is a blend composed of grapes from the "Los Nogales" vineyard, with approximately 80% Malbec and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted in 2001, this vineyard has the unique characteristic of being 100% massal selection, a tradition maintained by the Davalos family since the early 19th century. The vines are cultivated organically, following the principle that lower yields result in higher quality grapes. In fact, it takes the fruit of four vines to produce a single bottle.
This wine is intense and persistent. Behind its deep crimson color, it displays a remarkable structure and volume, accompanied by a balanced acidity. Aromatically, it combines notes of raspberries with spicy hints of licorice and black olives.
Only 3,000 bottles are produced annually.
